2. On the application, you will be asked to choose your membership type. Membership types included in the descriptions below.

3. Once your application has been processed you will receive a follow-up email with your receipt and more information to complete your membership. Although most applications will take less than 48 hours to process, please allow for 72 hours from receipt of application for completion.

New Primary REALTOR® - Brand new in the business or returning to the business where your REALTOR® membership has been Inactive longer than a year. Your real estate license must be active and you must be currently licensed with a REALTOR® company.

Re-Applicant for Primary REALTOR® - An agent returning to the business within the last twelve (12) months, who was last Primary with NEXUS Association of REALTORS®.

Transfer REALTOR® - If you are an agent who is transferring from another board or association to be a Primary REALTOR® with NEXUS, please contact Franceska at (856) 428-1013  ext. 201

Secondary REALTOR® - Has Primary membership with another board or association of REALTORS® within New Jersey.

Designated REALTOR® - Each firm must designate, in writing, a Designated REALTOR® who will be responsible for all of the duties and obligations of licensees associated with the Designated REALTOR®, including the obligation to arbitrate disputes pursuant to Article 17 of the Code of Ethics and to pay Association dues as established in the Bylaws. The Designated REALTOR® must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager of the firm capable of acting on behalf of the firm's principal(s) and must meet the other qualifications for REALTOR® membership established in the Bylaws. The Designated REALTOR® must be actively engaged in the real estate profession, and maintain a current, valid real estate broker's license or be licensed or certified by an appropriate State regulatory agency to engage in the appraisal of real property.

Secondary Designated REALTOR® - Has Primary membership with another board or association of REALTORS®. The Designated REALTOR® must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager of the firm capable of acting on behalf of the firm's principal(s) and must meet the other qualifications for REALTOR® membership established in the Bylaws. The Designated REALTOR® must be actively engaged in the real estate profession, and maintain a current, valid real estate broker's license or be licensed or certified by an appropriate State regulatory agency to engage in the appraisal of real property.

NEXUS and NJR Secondary REALTOR® - Has Primary membership with another board or association of REALTORS® outside of New Jersey.

Dues and Billing 

NEXUS Dues - Dues are paid annually to your local (NEXUS), state (NJR), and national (NAR) REALTOR® associations. NEXUS splits the dues billing into two invoices. NEXUS dues are sent in July and the state and national in October. All payments are due by the 1st of the new year.

You qualify for REALTOR® Membership if you are actively engaged in the real estate profession other than as a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager; Associated either as an employee or an independent contractor with a Designated REALTOR®.

A Designated REALTOR® is assigned by the brokerage and must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager of the firm capable of acting on behalf of the firm's principal(s) and must meet the other qualifications for REALTOR® membership established in the Bylaws.

You are eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status if you have been a member of the National Association of REALTORS® for a cumulative period of 40 or more years.

If you have a real estate-related business, you may apply for Affiliate Membership.

Yes. There is a mandatory new member orientation and Code of Ethics training that you must take within 60 days of joining. You will receive emails about that after you join.

Our dues billing is split in two. The first invoice for the local (NEXUS) dues goes out in July/August with an opportunity to save $25 with the early payment processing discount if payment is made by the due date. That is usually due after the Labor Day holiday. The second invoice for state/national (NJR/NAR) is sent out in October/November. All dues – NEXUS, New Jersey REALTORS®, and National Association of REALTORS® - must be paid by January 1. You may pay with cash, check or credit card online. ALL INVOICES ARE EMAILED. We do not send out via regular mail.
